FABACEAE (LEGUMINOSAE-PAPILIONOIDEAE)

ไม้พุ่ม สูงประมาณ 50 ซม. กิ่งก้านกลม มีขนบางๆ ใบ เดี่ยว เรียงสลับเวียนรอบกิ่ง รูปขอบขนานแคบแกมไข่กลับ กว้าง 0.4-1.5 ซม. ยาว 1-4 ซม. ปลายใบมนมีติ่งสั้น ผิวใบด้านล่างมีขนแน่น ดอก สีเหลือง ออกเป็นช่อ รูปดอกถั่ว ยาว 5-15 ซม. ดอกย่อยขนาดบาน 5-10 มม. กลีบรองดอก 5 กลีบ มีขนแน่น กลีบดอก 5 กลีบ กลีบบนแผ่รูปไข่กลับ ปลายกลีบเว้าเล็กน้อย กลีบข้างรูปขอบขนาน แคบ กลีบล่างรูปท้องเรือ เกสรผู้ 10 อัน รังไข่รูปขอบขนาน ผล เป็นฝัก ที่โคนมีใบประดับติดอยู่ รูปป้อมรี ผิวเกลี้ยง เมื่อแก่แล้วแตก สีน้ำตาลแกมเหลือง เมล็ด สีน้ำตาล ผิวเกลี้ยง

Undershrub, ca 50 cm high; stem and branches terete, sparsely pubescent. Leaves simple, alternate, oblong to obovate-oblong, 1-4 cm long by 0.4-1.5 cm wide, lower surface densely pilose; apex rounded-mucronate. Inflorescence elongated terminal raceme, 5-15 cm long. Flowers yellow, pea-shaped, 5-10 mm across; calyx 5, densely strigose; corolla 5, standard broadly obovate with lightly retuse tip, wings narrowly oblong, keel curved; stamens 10, monadelphous; ovary oblong. Pod ellipsoid, inflated, with persistent bracts, glabrous, dehiscent, yellowish brown when mature. Seeds brown, smooth, shiny.

India to Southeast Asia. In Thailand, found throughout the country in deciduous dipterocarp forests, limestone forests at elevations of 700-1,500 m. Flowering and fruiting from March to June.
